Nigeria’s U-20 national team played out a 2-2 draw with their counterparts from Kenya in the last Group B match at the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Aliyu Zubairu’s side equalised twice to secure a draw against the Young Harambe Stars which already crashed out of the tournament.

Kevin Wanganya scored the first goal of the game from the penalty spot in the sixth minute at the 30 June Stadium, Cairo.

The goal was the first conceded by the Flying Eagles at the tournament after keeping clean sheets against Tunisia and Morocco respectively.

The lead lasted for seven minutes after which Simon Cletus set up Kparobo Arierhi for the equaliser.

The East Africans went ahead for the second time in the 68th minute as William Gitamu converted Humphrey Obino’s assist.

Five minutes later, Daniel Bameyi converted from the spot to ensure that both teams share spoils.

Flying Eagles with the result qualified for the next round of the competition after finishing second in Group B with five points, two behind Morocco which defeated Tunisia 3-1.
