U20 AFCON: Taribo West talks up Nigeria’s title chances in Egypt

Former Nigerian international Taribo West has expressed confidence in Nigeria U20 national team to deliver success at the 2023 TotalEnergies CAF U20 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The Flying Eagles have been paired alongside host country Egypt, Senegal and Mozambique in the Group A of the 12-month tournament.
The age-grade tournament will also double as the African qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be held in Indonesia, with rhe semi-finalists will represent the continent at the 23rd edition of the showpiece.
West insists that the Ladan Bosso led side has no choice than to make Nigerians happy in the North Africa.
“The U17 and U20 are foundation of the national team, so I’m sure the coaches understand what’s at stake,” the former Super Eagles star told Brlla FM.
“We are really looking at the Flying Eagles because they are very close to the national team, and any player can blossom from there and become the revelation of their generation.
“We just want to a team that’ll go all the way, make Nigerians happy, and importantly bring back the lost glory in youths competitions.”
The Egypt 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations will take place from 19 February to 11 March 2023 and the Flying Eagles will start the tourney against their West African brothers, Senegal on Monday.
