Unification Ladies stun FC Robo Queens, end 14-year reign to set up final with Dannaz Ladies

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

In a shocking turn of events, Unification Ladies have shattered FC Robo’s 14-year dominance in the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) Federation Cup, securing a dramatic 4-3 penalty shootout victory after a tense goalless draw.

The monumental upset comes just a year after Unification Ladies suffered a crushing 5-0 defeat to the same opponents at this stage of the tournament.

This time, they rewrote the script with a masterclass in resilience and preparation.

“This victory is a result of hard work and learning from our past mistakes,” said Prince Oyekan, praising the team’s dedication.

The club’s director also expressed immense pride in their progress, calling it a defining moment for the squad.

This result not only marks the end of an era for FC Robo but also signals a seismic shift in the landscape of Lagos women’s football.

Unification Ladies  will face another top-flight side, Dannaz Ladies, in this weekend’s final.

Dannaz Ladies, on the other hand, thrashed Unizee 6-0 in the other semi-final match.
