Upbeat Obinna Uzoho targets win as Kun Khalifat face Ikorodu City in Lagos

By Wale Mustapha

Head Coach of Kun Khalifat, Obinna Uzoho, says his team remains optimistic ahead of their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 11 encounter against Ikorodu City on Sunday in Lagos.

The league newcomers will visit the Mobolaji Johnson Arena to face the “Oga Boys” as they look to extend their impressive run of form.

Kun Khalifat are currently on a four-match unbeaten streak, following a goalless draw with Insurance FC in Umuahia last weekend.

Despite acknowledging the challenge of facing Ikorodu City away from home, Uzoho has urged his players to stay focused and unfazed by the pressure of playing in Lagos.

“We are going out there to fight against Ikorodu City, and we have every reason to be positive about getting a good result,” Uzoho told the club’s media team.

“I wish there were no home or away games, as football politics often affects the experience. But we won’t let that bother us—we are focused on delivering a strong performance.”

Kun Khalifat will be hoping to maintain their momentum as they continue to establish themselves in Nigeria’s top-flight football.
