Victor Osimhen delivered a superb performance with two assists as Galatasaray S.K. hammered Eyüpspor 5–1 in Friday night’s Turkish Super Lig clash.
Osimhen now boasts nine goals and two assists in 16 league appearances this season, underlining his continued importance to the Istanbul giants.
The 27-year-old wasted no time making his mark, setting up Yunus Akgün for the opening goal just two minutes into the contest.
He turned provider again three minutes into the second half, assisting Mauro Icardi to put Galatasaray 3–0 ahead. Icardi had earlier doubled the lead on 33 minutes and later grabbed his third of the night to complete a hat-trick and make it 4–0.
Metehan Altunbas pulled one back for Eyupspor, but an 88th-minute own goal by Jérôme Onguéné sealed Galatasaray’s fifth goal of the evening.
Eyupspor’s task became even more difficult when Bedirhan Özyurt was shown a straight red card with the score at 2–0.
The emphatic victory sees league leaders Galatasaray move to 55 points after 22 matches, maintaining their advantage over second-placed Fenerbahçe S.K., who sit on 49 points after 21 games.
