Adana Demirspor coach, Vincenzo Montella is pleased with the overall performance of Nigeria striker Henry Onyekuru in the team’s 1-1 draw with Fenerbahce in a Turkish topflight encounter on Thursday.
Enner Valencia late effort for the visitors cancelled Cherif Ndiaye’s strike from the spot for Adana, forcing both sides to share the spoils and the manager has singled out the Nigerian for his impactful display in the encounter.
“It was a game that I really enjoyed, I am proud of my team. We chased the game from start to finish,” Montella told media.
“We did everything we could to get the score, I am proud of them though. Belhanda and Onyekuru, the two most self sacrificing players of the team, are playing under pressure. Our most offensive player, Henry, these two are very sacrificing.”
Onyekuru has found the back of the net six times for Adama Demirspor in 18 matches as he’s on loan from Olympiacos.
Adana Demirspor are seated fifth on the Turkish Super Lig with 38 points from 21 matches. They will face Ümraniyespor in their next game on the sixth of February 2023 at the Ümraniye Belediyesi Sehir stadium.
