By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Cruz Azul forward Vivian Ikechukwu was part of the Mexican women’s top-flight team of the week after opening her goal duck for her side last weekend.

The former Rivers Angels player helped her team to a comfortable win over Santa Laguna.

Her efforts were rewarded with the team of the week alongside South Africa captain, Thembi Kgatlana.

The duo were the two African players in the team of the week.

Others include Gabriela Machuka, Tanna Sanchez, Ximena Rios, Gabriela Alvarez, Fernanda Limon, and Monica Ocampo.

Nicole Perez, Gabriela Valenzuela, and Wendis Cabrera compete the squad.

Ikechukwu, who previously played for Gintra FC and Besiktas, will hope to add to her goal tally in their next league match.
