Wafu-B U20 Women’s Cup- Burkina Faso 0-3 Nigeria: Falconets extend flawless run

The Nigeria U20 women’s national side extended their flawless run in the Wafu-B U20 Women’s Cup as they secured a 3-0 victory over Burkina Faso at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.
Prolific forward Opeyemi Ajakaye extended her lead at the summit of the highest goal scorer table to six goals from four after banging in a brace against Burkina Faso.
It took 11 minutes from Ajakaye to race through on goal before her deflected effort went into the net.
The Falconets dominated proceedings in the game but couldn’t add to their tally in the first half as Burkina Faso surged forward looking for an equalizer from the half chances that came their way.
Ajakaye popped up to double Nigeria’s lead in the encounter at the 60th minute.
The Falconets didn’t relent in their pursuit for more goals in the game as substitute Flourish Sabastine scored in the 88th minute to finish off a sterling performance from the Nigeria girls.
Nigeria remain the only team in the Wafu B U20 that’s yet to conceded a goal as they have three clean sheets courtesy of goalkeeper, Anderlin Mgbeche.
Meanwhile, the Falconets are through to the semi-final and will face Benin Republic in the semifinal of the tournament on Wednesday.
