Nigerian forward Victor Orakpo has pledged his full commitment to Montpellier following his loan move, declaring his determination to help the club secure promotion back to Ligue 1.
Speaking ahead of the new season, the Bayern Munich Youth Cup standout expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to prove himself in France’s second tier.
“My message to Montpellier is simple: believe in my teammates and me. We will give everything to gain promotion back to Ligue 1,” Orakpo stated confidently.
Setting clear personal targets, the 22-year-old forward aims to contribute both goals and assists to bolster Montpellier’s promotion campaign.
“I want to score and assist many goals this season to help the team achieve our promotion goals,” he added.
Orakpo also addressed the fans, assuring them of the squad’s unity and relentless work ethic.
“We are fully committed and determined to make our supporters proud as we push for a return to the top flight,” he said.
His arrival boosts Montpellier’s attacking options ahead of the season, following their encouraging 1-0 pre-season win over Bastia.
