Why I am visiting Nigeria frequently – Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi

Borussia Dortmund forward of Nigerian descent, Karim Adeyemi, has been questioned about his frequent visits to the country despite representing Germany at the international level.
Born in Germany to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother, Adeyemi is back in the country to continue his investment in football and youth development.
The 21-year-old has made an annual visitation to his Karim Adeyemi Foundation, an Academy at the Olubadan Stadium, in a bid to help more Nigerian talents grow through the ranks.
Speaking to the media in Ibadan, he explained the reasons for his homecoming.
“As I said, I think I have my roots here. My father is from here, and his heart is still here in Nigeria,” Adeyemi told media.
“Of course, my heart is also here in Nigeria. [There is] a story of how I came here to Nigeria. I saw the kids playing football on the street, and I played with them.
“It’s a small story, but it touched my heart all my life. So I try to give something back to the community.
“The first thing is to help people. To allow teenagers and children to choose their life, to go to school, to play football, and with good qualities, good coaches, this is what we are trying to do.”
