By Monsurah Olatunji

The assistant captain of the Nigeria men’s national team, William Troost-Ekong has officially joined Greece outfit, PAOK, until 2026.
The 29-year-old completed his medicals on Monday after reaching an agreement with Championship side Watford.
The centre-back signed for the Hornets from Udinese in 2020, and went on to make 68 appearances for the club, which included helping them to the Premier League in 2021 before going on loan to Salernitana last season.
He registered his first Serie A goal with the last kick of the game as Salernitana rallied from 2-0 down to defeat Udinese 3-2 in their final home match.
However, the Serie A side decided against triggering an option to make the move permanent, Troost-Ekong had returned to Watford.
Troost-Ekong reportedly signed a three-year contract, with PAOK expected to pay more than one million euros for the defender.
Earlier reports suggest that Troost-Ekong was wanted by a host of clubs including Panathinaikos, Genoa and Verona.
He has played 274 games at club level, including 74 in Serie A, 17 in the Premier League, 47 in the Championship, and has also played in the Norwegian and Turkish top divisions.
Troost-Ekong was part of the team that defeated Sierra Leone 3-2 in Monrovia to give the Nigeria Super Eagles the AFCON 2023 ticket with a game to spare.
