World Cup Qualifiers: Remo Stars congratulate goalkeeper Obassa Adebiyi after Benin Republic invitation

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) leaders, Remo Stars have sent a congratulatory message to goalkeeper, Obassa Adebiyi.

Obassa made Gernot Rohr’s 23 player roster for their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Zimbabwe and South Africa this month.

“🇧🇯Obassa Adebiyi has received a call-up to the Benin Republic squad for this month’s 2026 World Cup qualifying matches,” the club posted on their social media pages.

Obassa has been an integral part of Sky Blue Stars squad which currently top the NPFL table.

They have an eight point lead over Rivers United at the league summit.

With 10 matches before the end of the season, the Ikenne based side is in pole position to win their maiden league title.

They have been close in the past three seasons with third placed position once and second position in the last two seasons.
