Yetunde Adeboyejo’s header knocks Maccabi Kiryat Gat out of Israel State Cup

Nigeria’s Yetunde Adeboyejo scored the match-winner as her Israeli side, Ramat Hasharon stunned league holders, Maccabi Kiryat Gat 2-1 in the quarter-final of the Women’s State Cup.

Kiryat Gat were favourite to win the encounter as a result of its league form but the game tide changed.

After a goalless first half, Dany Helena scored the first goal of the game for Kiryat Gat ten minutes into the second half.

The goal spurred Ramat Hasharon players to cause a major cup upset as Arava Shafaf started the comeback for Ramat Hasharon in the 65th minute with the equalizer.

Adeboyejo in the 72nd minute headed in Ramat Hasharon’s winning goal to lift her side to a 2-1 win over the favourites.

She replicated her goal-scoring form in the league where she converted four goals in the cup game which was crucial in taking her team to the semi-final of the Women’s State Cup.
