2025 AFCONQ: 20 players in Super Eagles camp ahead of Benin and Rwanda clash

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

A total number of 20 players are in the camp of Nigeria’s senior men’s national team ahead of the two games the team will prosecute at 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers.

Goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali and Amas Obasogie, alongside 18 other players, are in camp.

Captain, William Troost Ekong, Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Olisa Ndah, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Samuel Chukwueze, and Raphael Onyedika were early arrivals.

They were joined by Taiwo Awoniyi, Wilfred Ndidi, Victor Boniface, Fisayo Dele Bashiru, Moses Simon, Al-Hassan Yusuf, Frank Onyeka, Bruno Onuemaechi, and Benjamin Tanimu.

The players had their first training session in preparation for the two games on Tuesday.

Super Eagles will tackle Benin Republic (Uyo, 7th September) and Rwanda (Kigali, 10th September).

With a dicey FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign for the three-time Africa champions, they hope to replicate the form that saw them reach the final of the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire when the qualification gets underway next weekend.
