NWFL Championship: Oluwatobi Oyekan aims to build on Unification Ladies’ strengths
By Saheed Afolabi
Unification Ladies’ head coach, Oluwatobi Oyekan, is determined to capitalize on his team’s strengths as they prepare for their upcoming fixtures in the NWFL Championship.
Despite a recent setback against Ibom Angels, where he felt key decisions by the officials were unfavorable, Oyekan remains focused on improving his squad’s performance.
“We were unjustly denied a fair result in the last game,” Oyekan remarked.
“We conceded an own goal and experienced questionable officiating, such as the incident where our center back was pushed and the referee chose to ignore it.
“Nevertheless, I am proud of how the team handled these challenges with resilience.”
Looking forward, Oyekan is optimistic about building on the team’s strengths and addressing areas for improvement. “Every match offers a new challenge,” he said.
“Our next game will be against a different opponent, and we will use this opportunity to review our performance, refine our strategies, and enhance our strengths.
“By focusing on these aspects and improving our chance conversion, we aim to secure a positive outcome and three points in our next match.”
