Turkish Football Federation clears Osayi-Samuel of wrongdoing

The Turkish Football Federation have freed Bright Osayi-Samuel of any misdeeds due to the physical exchange of blows with Trabzonspor fans in a league game.

The Nigeria international was charged alongside other teammates by the TFF following the brawl that ensued the game between Fernerbahce and Trabzonspor before the international break in March.

Following the conclusion of investigation in the case, the TFF found Osayi not guilty but teammate, Jayden Quinn Oosterwolde and some club’s officials weren’t lucky as they were landed with heavy sanctions.

“FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. About the athlete BRIGHT OSAYI SAMUEL , TRABZONSPOR A.Ş.-FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. match played on 17.03.2024. Although a referral was made to our Board due to the act of fighting with the fans of the opposing team in the Trendyol Super League competition; (majority vote),” the TFF was quoted by Aspor.

“In the same competition, FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. athlete JAYDEN QUINN OOSTERWOLDE will be punished with a FINE of 39,000.-TL due to his unsportsmanlike behavior towards the opposing team’s stands, (majority vote).

“In the same competition, FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. athlete JAYDEN QUINN OOSTERWOLDE, FDT 45/1-a and 35/4 due to his action of fighting with the fans of the opposing team. In accordance with the article and by applying the 12th article of the FDT, he will be banned from 1 OFFICIAL COMPETITION and punished with a fine of 13,000.-TL (majority vote).

“In the same competition, FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. Although athlete İRFAN CAN EĞRİBAYAT was referred to our Board due to his unsportsmanlike behavior towards the opposing team’s stands; Since the elements of the alleged disciplinary violation have not occurred, THERE IS NO ROLE FOR PUNISHMENT ASSIGNMENT.

“In the same competition, FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. athlete İRFAN CAN EĞRİBAYAT was sentenced to FDT articles 45/1-a and 35/4 due to his action of fighting with the fans of the rival team. In accordance with the article and by applying the 12th article of the FDT, he will be banned from 1 OFFICIAL COMPETITION and punished with a fine of 13,000.-TL (majority vote).

“In the same competition, FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. KÜRŞAT ÇİFTLİK, the official, shall be punished with 15 DAYS DEPRECIATION, in accordance with Article 45/1-c of the FDT and by applying Article 12 of the FDT, due to his action of fighting with the fans of the opposing team, (majority vote).

“In the same competition, FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. OKAN ÖZKAN, the official of the team, should be punished with 15 DAYS DEPRIVATION PENALTY, in accordance with Article 45/1-c of the FDT and by applying Article 12 of the FDT, due to the act of fighting with the opposing team’s coach, (majority vote).”
