EPL: Southampton boss hails Joe Aribo’s performance in win over Ipswich

By Wale Mustapha

Southampton manager Ivan Juric has praised Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo for his outstanding display in the club’s 2-0 victory over Ipswich in the English Premier League on Saturday.

Aribo played a pivotal role in the match, contributing significantly to Southampton’s second win of the season.

The 31-year-old opened the scoring for the Saints, netting his first goal of the campaign.

Despite playing in an unfamiliar left-wing role, Aribo’s performance earned him the Player of the Match award, a recognition Juric believes was well deserved.

“Joe is a great guy; he’s everything for the team,” Juric said, speaking to the club’s official website.

“He doesn’t care if he is a forward, at the back, or in the middle. Today, he played left centre-back and I think he did a great job in the second half.

“We worked really hard, really well, and Joe was fantastic today.”
