Enyimba FC defender Imoh Obot has confirmed his departure from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club, bringing an end to his four-year stint with the People’s Elephants.
Obot, who joined Enyimba from Dakkada FC ahead of the 2020 NPFL season, opted not to renew his contract following its expiration this month.
The experienced left-back was instrumental during his time at the club, playing a key role in their league title win three seasons ago.
Widely regarded as one of the league’s top defenders, Obot holds the record for the most free-kick goals scored by a defender in the NPFL over the last three seasons, with six goals.
His departure has sparked interest from several NPFL clubs, with Rivers United — managed by former Enyimba coach Finidi George — emerging as a frontrunner to secure his signature.
Obot also previously played for Nasarawa United before making his mark with Enyimba.
