Technical Adviser of Nasarawa Amazons, Christopher Danjuma, has expressed optimism ahead of his team’s President Federation Cup final clash against Rivers Angels, set for Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
The highly anticipated showdown will see two of Nigeria’s most successful women’s football clubs go head-to-head, in what is a repeat of the 2019 final, where the Amazons emerged champions at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
Speaking to the club’s media, Danjuma confirmed that his squad is in high spirits and fully motivated to cap off the season on a winning note.
“One of the excitements at the end of the season is seeing your team present till the end to close the campaign on a positive note,” he said.
“The Federation Cup is a prestigious tournament where every team aspires to be at the final because it’s a great galore. The feeling is great because we didn’t start the season well, but we changed things and were spurred up to be competitive.”
Danjuma added that the team’s turnaround has been fueled by belief and commitment, and he is confident the players will give their all on the pitch.
“We are hopeful of making the state proud after the game,” he concluded.
Nasarawa Amazons will be chasing their second Federation Cup title in six years, while Rivers Angels will be looking to reclaim their dominance in the competition.
