Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho is aiming for a resurgence at Spanish La Liga side Sevilla as preparations begin for the 2025/2026 season.
The Super Eagles striker joined Sevilla in the summer of 2024 but spent the second half of last season on loan at English Championship club Middlesbrough.
With the loan spell now concluded, Iheanacho is expected to return to the Andalusian side this summer to fight for a place in the first team.
Speaking in an interview, the 2021 FA Cup winner expressed optimism about his future in Spain.
“I’m really excited to be here. It’s a wonderful place,” Iheanacho said.
“It was good to go out and experience football in a different environment. Sevilla is a great club. I loved my time there. It’s a fantastic team, and I’m looking forward to returning.”
The 27-year-old previously played a key role at Leicester City, forming a potent attacking trio with Jamie Vardy and James Maddison and helping the Foxes to a top-seven Premier League finish.
He was also instrumental in Leicester’s 2021 FA Cup triumph, contributing crucial goals throughout the competition.
Known for his composure and finishing ability, Iheanacho has built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most reliable goal scorers at both club and international level.
Sevilla fans will be hoping the striker can replicate his past form and bolster the team’s attacking options in the new campaign.
