By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho headlined the list of Premier League’s Player of the Month award for February.
In a six-player shortlist, the Leicester City forward had a superb month, scoring two goals and three assists in just four appearances for the Foxes during the month under review.
The 26-year-old scored and assisted two in Leicester City’s 4-2 win at Aston Villa and followed it up with a goal and an assist as they thrashed Tottenham 4-1.
Iheanacho will face competition from Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford who is the favorite after scoring five goals in four games for Erik ten Hag’s side, and will be looking to win the award for the third time this season.
Other contenders are Tottenham defender Emerson who kept clean sheets in wins over Manchester City, West Ham United, and Chelsea, with a goal against City, Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins, who scored in all four of his outings.
Fulham is the only team with two nominees as former Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno and in-form winger Manor Solomon both received nominations.
With this nomination, Iheanacho becomes the second Nigerian player to be nominated for the award this season after Nottingham Forest forward, Taiwo Awoniyi won it in December.
