Ogunmodede assures Remo Stars readiness for CAF Champions League trip to Ghana

Head Coach of Remo Stars, Daniel Ogunmodede has expressed his side’s readiness to embark on another journey through the 2023/2024 CAF Champions League and is expecting an improved outing this time.
Remo Stars finished second at the end of 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League season to secure a place in the Africa’s elite club competition for the first time in their history.
The Sky Blue Stars have been paired against Ghana’s Medeama Sports Club in the first round of the qualifying stage of the competition and the manager revealed that everyone is excited about the prospect of playing in the CAF Champions League and hope to make it through despite admitting the crucial nature of doing it.
“It’s a crucial moment for the club, the players and myself being our first time playing in the Champions League,”  Ogunmodede told club’s media.
“We are most excited about it most importantly that we are also playing against a private owned club like us in the same region of Africa, we are very excited and can’t wait to pass through this moments.”
Asked about how the team’s readiness mentally and physically, the young tactician assures that Remo Stars is ready for the task ahead having enjoyed more time to rest and recover well from preparatory moments.
“Preseasons have come and gone, we were able to get absolutely 100 percent what we needed to get from it, as for fatigue, we have enoukgh time to rest from the preseason and give much recuperations for the boys,” he continued.
“As for the projection, we hope to continue from where we stopped last time out (in the Confederation Cup) and even do much better than that and hopefully we can get to the group stage of the Champions League.”
The match between Medeama SC and Remo Stars will be taking place at the Cape Coast Stadium, Accra, Ghana by 4pm Nigerian time.
