Akinwunmi Amoo happy to return from injury layoffs in Omonia Nicosia victory

Talented Nigerian youngster, Akinwunmi Amoo is in cloud nine for making a return to football action for Omonia Nicosia on Tuesday after over 12-month absence due to injury.
The 21-year-old had suffered a career threatening injury while at Copenhagen in the early past of 2023 and was almost medically advised to retire from professional football.
The Super Eagles’ winger, however, made his long awaited debut for his new Cyprus club, Omonia on Tuesday in their 3-1 win over AEL Limassol.
He came on as a substitute and was almost providing an assist in the match and Amoo expressed dellght to taste football action against just as he appreciated the club for their support through his difficult times.
“My first game for Omonia and I’m excited to be back from injury,” the Super Eagle wrote on his social media page.
“I want to thank the Management, coaches, team mates and backroom staff for their support since I joined this club and during my recovery period. Home win and we closed the gap.”
Omonia are third on the log after garnering 35 points with four points separating them with league leaders, APOEL Nicosia on 39.
