Alex Iwobi confident Everton can avoid Premier League relegation

Everton star Alex Iwobi is confident his side would survive the relegation battle in the English Premier League.

The Toffees got a setback in their struggle to avoid the drop after a 3-0 loss to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium and the Super Eagles midfielder has urged his teammates to keep pushing and not relent despite recent setback.

The former Arsenal midfielder encouraged his colleagues to keep the hopes alive and win their last two matches to secure the maximum six points at stake.

“We can’t be too down but there is a saying in football that you can’t be too high, like against Brighton, and then too low about City. We just need to kick on and go again,” Iwobi was quoted by Brace Radio.

“The mindset is to have the belief that we can stay up and get maximum points – get six points. We have to prepare, analyze and see Wolves weaknesses and how we capitalize against them.”

The creative midfielder has scored two goals and provided seven assists this season. Everton will take a trip to the 31,750 Molineux Stadium to face Wolves in a must win encounter to tighten their grip above the relegation zone.

With just one point above the relegation waters, the Toffees are situated on the 17th position with 32 points from 36 matches.
