Anam Imo Returns to FC Rosengård

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

FC Rosengård announced the signing of Nigerian international striker Anam Imo.

The 25-year-old forward returns to the club from another Swedish women’s top flight side, Piteå IF, having previously represented Rosengård during the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Imo, widely known for her strength and goal-scoring instinct in the OBOS Damallsvenskan, rejoins Rosengård after a stellar 2023 campaign where she netted 15 goals for Piteå — her most prolific season to date in Sweden’s top flight.

“It feels great to welcome Anam back to FC Rosengård,” said Emelie Lundberg, FC Rosengård’s Sports Director.

“She is a big and strong forward who has consistently produced goals in this league. She’s tough to face, excellent in hold-up play, and wins a lot of duels in the offensive box.”

“Anam will bring vital competition to our attack, which is key to our development as a team. We believe we can help her grow further as a player — while also benefiting from her experience and physical presence.”

Imo joined compatriot, Halimatu Ayinde after the latter recently won the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with Nigeria’s senior women’s national team in Morocco last weekend.

She hope to add her experience at Pitea to he attacking department of FC Rosengard in their quest to retain the league title.
