Anam Imo scores as Pitea thrash Skelleftea in Svenska Cupen

Nigeria international Anam Imo made her mark as Piteå delivered an impressive 10-0 victory over Skellefteå FC in the Round of 16 of the Swedish Svenska Cupen on Wednesday.

Imo found the net in the 32nd minute, contributing to a dominant first half that ended 3-0 in favor of Piteå.

The second half saw an additional seven goals, showcasing Piteå’s offensive prowess. Green Maja shone with a hat-trick, while Matilda Asla Johannesen, Ekblom, Emma Viklund, and Astro each added a goal to the tally.

Looking ahead, Piteå will shift their focus to their upcoming league match against Örebro on September 29, 2024.

Currently positioned sixth in the Swedish Damallsvenskan, they aim to deliver performances that will strengthen their bid for UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) qualification.

Imo has been a key player for the team, alongside her compatriot Faith Michael, both of whom have played vital roles in Piteå’s success this season.
