As Napoli begins pre-season training, Victor Osimhen has joined his teammates, but Italian club’s new head coach Antonio Conte has revealed that he is in the dark about his next move.

The Italian tactician insisted that the reigning African Player of the Year must keep working hard in training despite the uncertainty of his career.

Osimhen remains one of the most sought-after strikers in the world but his preference is a move to the Premier League. Although no concrete offers have yet to materialize with Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea all linked with the player.

The Super Eagles star has a €130 million release clause when he extended his contract with Napoli last season but no European club is willing to meet the staggering fee, opening up the slim possibility of him remaining in Italy beyond this window.

Meanwhile, the Partenopei is exploring the possibility of replacing Osimhen with Romelu Lukaku if a suitable offer is received as PSG is keen on making him Kylian Mbappe’s replacement.

However, Conte insisted that he has no idea what will happen next but he is ready to work with available players for their preseason programs.

“I spoke to Victor and there are no changes in his situation. He’s a top player,” Conte said via Fabrizio Romano.

“He’s a Napoli player today, so he needs to work hard, even if we have an agreement and still we don’t know the outcome of this story.”
