West Brom manager, Carlos Corberán has heaped praise on hat-trick hero, Josh Maja, following their season opener victory.
The Nigerian fired a superb hat-trick as the Baggies started the new season with a 3-1 victory at the MATRADE Loftus Road on Saturday.
The Spanish tactician, however, cautioned that Maja’s playing time would need careful management after a season of limited action due to injury.
The 25-year-old joined West Brom from Bordeaux last summer but endured a challenging first season, starting only one game before a serious injury sidelined him for the remainder of the campaign.
“Josh Maja has had a very good level of impact on the game because it is not easy to score three goals, and all three had a lot of quality,” he told the club’s official website.
“But with Josh Maja, after one season without playing many games, we have to manage his minutes well and this is one of the positions we need to strengthen because we need to protect every single player.”
