Ebenezer Odeyemi eyes bright NPFL start with Bendel Insurance FC at Akwa United

Ebenezer Odeyemi is looking forward to an exciting season with his new club, Bendel Insurance FC as the new Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL season kickoff on Sunday.
Insurance FC will be taking on Akwa United in the season opener at Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Sunday and Odeyemi who joined Insurance last summer ahead of new campaign is eager to hit the ground running.
The Benin outfit gained promotion back to the NPFL after a long exile in the lower division and Odeyemi is confident on helping the club to retain their topflight status and challenging for glory this season.
“I’m excited about the opportunities to join be part of this club rich in history, its another chance to play at the top level again and I can’t wait to get started,” the striker exclusively told Nigeriafootball.ng.
“We’ve done really well in the build up to this match and we are ready for the season, more good for us its an away game which means we are not under pressure.
“Like our coach said, our focus this season is to remain in the NPFL at the end of the season, play the best of the game we’ve been playing and build on it for the following season, anything other things that come with it will be a plus.
As one of the experienced players in the Nigerian league, Odeyemi has previously suited up for Kogi United, Elkanemi Warriors, Enyimba, Gombe United, Shooting Stars. Ekiti United in the domestic leagues.

When asked of the number of goals to score during the season, the former Niger Tornadoes forward refused to make a target, but vows to score enough to keep Insurance in the topflight.

“No, I don’t want to have a target on that you know this is an abridged season with less games, but my target to score goals that will be okay for us to achieve our season’s aim which is to finish well at the end of the season,” he concluded.
