Edwin Okon, former coach of the Nigeria women’s national team, has issued a rallying cry to the Super Falcons ahead of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, urging them not to harbor any fear of their opponents.

With Spain, Japan, and Brazil in their group, Okon emphasized his unwavering confidence in the Falcons’ ability to compete at the highest level.

He stressed that on the pitch, it’s not about reputations but rather about the collective effort of eleven players against eleven.

In his words, as reported by Daily Post, “I trust the players because they know what is at stake. Names do not play football, so it will be 11 against 11 when the Super Falcons face these teams. There should be no fear because they also want to make a name for themselves at this level of the game.”

With this resolute mindset, Okon aims to instill a sense of belief and determination within the team as they gear up to kick off their Olympic campaign against Brazil in Bordeaux on July 25, under the guidance of coach Randy Waldrum.
