William Troost-Ekong reveals main motive behind his soon-to-be launched foundation

Nigeria vice-captain William Troost-Ekong has unveiled his ambitious plans to empower Nigerian youth through football and education.
Through the establishment of the Troost-Ekong Foundation, the 2023 AFCON Player of the Tournament articulated his vision to institute a sports academy in his hometown, Akwa Ibom.
“The biggest thing for me is to create opportunity. I really want to make a mark,” Troost-Ekong expressed to Soccernet, emphasizing his commitment to making a meaningful difference.
This initiative serves as both a gesture of gratitude to his roots and a profound commitment to community upliftment. Troost-Ekong had earlier announced his decision to redirect his future earnings from the Super Eagles towards the advancement of football in Akwa Ibom State, showcasing his unwavering dedication to this cause.
“I plan to eventually open up my own school and sports facilities,” Troost-Ekong revealed, highlighting his broader aspirations beyond the academy. He radiated enthusiasm as he shared, “It really gives me a lot of energy and happiness,” signifying his deep sense of fulfillment in contributing positively to society.
