EPL legends blame Taiwo Awoniyi for Notthingham Forest loss to Manchester United

Former Premier League stars, Andy Cole and David Seaman, have criticized the goal-scoring chances wasted by Nigeria international, Taiwo Awoniyi in Nottingham Forest’s Premier League 2-0 defeat against Manchester United at the City Ground on Sunday.
Awoniyi, who has five goals for Forest this season, just made his return to the pitch following a three-month absence due to a groin injury and the Super Eagles star against the Red Devils on Sunday, April 16.
The hosts were hoping to put an end to their awful run of nine consecutive matches without a win but the Red Devils created lots of chances in the first half and got rewarded when Antony broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute.
Awoniyi was presented with a chance to level for Nottingham just before the break but ended up hammering the ball over the crossbar – a big miss Cole and Seaman were not impressed with.
“That was a side foot all day long for me. David de Gea’s left hand, that is where I’m going. He laid it perfectly for him,” Cole told Premier League TV.
“He [Awoniyi] doesn’t need to go wide of Diogo Dalot because he is in a good position. If you touch him, it is a penalty. So he can actually gamble and take a touch. If he takes a touch and pushes it past him, it is a penalty.”
On his part, Seaman said, “I think he should be more composed.
“It just looks like he is putting his foot through the ball rather than guiding it into the side.
“It was a terrible touch there. It was not fantastic. Just smash it.”
