FIFA U20 World Cup: Time and where to watch Nigeria vs Dominican Republic

By: Monsurah Olatunji

The Nigeria U20 men’s national team will on Sunday kickstart their 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup campaign against the Dominican Republic.
On Thursday, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) tweeted a confirmation of the team’s arrival in Mendoza, Argentina, before their opening match.
Ladan Bosso’s team will play their first Group D match against the first-timer, the Dominican Republic at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas in Mendoza.
The second match between the seven-time African champions and Italy will also take place in Mendoza.
In La Plata, the Flying Eagles’ last group game will be against the five-time winner, Brazil.
The seven-time African champions have finished second in the U20 World Cup twice, most recently in 2005, however in each of their past three tournament appearances, they have been dismissed in the round of 16.
The team is among the four semi-finalists who won African tickets to Argentina, after they were placed third at the 2023 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations in March.
The Dominican Republic on the other hand is making its debut after making an unexpected run to the championship of the 2022 CONCACAF U20 competition.
The Flying Eagles take on the Dominican Republic on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
The game will kick off at 7 PM Nigerian time and will be available on Startimes and DSTV.
