Nigerian duo, Osinachi Ohale, and Charity Adule will play in Spanish Reto Iberdrola next season after Deportivo Alaves and Alhama were relegated from the topflight following a 1-1 draw in Vitoria-Gasteiz on Saturday.
Heading into the encounter, both sides needed a win to stand a chance of escaping relegation but couldn’t get the desired results as they settled for a draw in Spanish Liga F bottom-of-the-table clash at the Estadio Mendizorrotza.
After early botched attacks, it was the visitors that broke the deadlock when Raquel Pinel right-footed strike hit the bottom left corner to give Alhama the lead in the 35th minute.
After the break, the visitors almost doubled the lead and also guarantee their top-flight survival as Marina Marti’s effort struck the crossbar.
In the closing stages when the visitors were almost ready to celebrate their topflight stay, Camila Alejandra Saez Oyaneder ruined the survival hopes of the visitors as she leveled matters for Alaves six minutes from full-time.
Ohale was an unused substitute for Alaves while Adule saw full 90 minutes for Alhama.
After the final game of the season, Alhama and Alaves confirmed their relegation to the second-tier league with 21 points apiece occupy the 15th and 16th position respectively on the Spanish log.
The last two positions occupied by both teams meant they are relegated to second-tier league.
