Gombe United coach Babaganaru picks positives in NPFL kickoff postponement
By Wale Mustapha
New Head Coach of Gombe United, Mohammad Babaganaru has described the shift in kickoff date of 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL as blessing in disguise for his team.
The NPFL organisers announced an indefinite postponement in the season commencement this week as Shooting Stars were scheduled to trade tackles Plateau United in Ibadan while remaining games to be decided a week later.
Despite many were irked by the unexpected defferment, Babaganaru who took over the Savannah Scorpions a week ago, insists the shift would afford his team to gel well and be in top shape for the season.
“The NPFL postponement is definitely a blessing in disguise for Gombe United,” the former Kano Pillars manager told media.
“We need to make the best use of this opportunity to work on the team and correct our lapses.”
Gombe United will face Sporting Lagos at Onikan Stadium in Lagos when the league finally resume.
