Kwara United coach Kabiru Dogo seeks strong start to NPFL second stanza

By Wale Mustapha
Technical Adviser of Kwara United, Kabiru Dogo has called on his players not to settle for less as they begin their second round campaign in 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL season against El-Kanemi Warriors.
The Akure based outfit made a rough start to their first round outing in the Group A, leading to the premature exit of their former handler, Mohammed Azeez and paved way for Dogo who left his position at Wikki Tourist to team up with his boyhood club and ensure her new team finished the first stanza on a high.
The former Sunshine Stars gaffer charged his players to aim higher in the second round in their quest to secure one of the tickets for the title-deciding NPFL Super Six playoff.
“This second stanza of the abridged league is the real deal, teams currently occupying the top can go down and teams at the bottom of the table can go atop,” Dogo told the media in Akure.
“This is why we need to take every match seriously, with the calibre of players we have now, I can beat my chest that nearly all of you are in top form.
“You would be disappointing yourselves and Kwarans if you fail to make it to the last six, the time for merriment and enjoyment shall come, let’s focus on the job we came here to do for now,” he concluded.
After a first leg win in Maiduguri, the Harmony Warriors will be aiming a double against their visitors on Sunday.
