By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) expresses its condolences to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Referee Council and the broader refereeing community in Nigeria following the passing of former FIFA Assistant Referee, Bosede Momoh, on Monday, April 21, 2025.

Momoh reportedly died at the National Hospital in Abuja after a prolonged illness.

Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the General Secretary of NFF, conveyed profound sorrow regarding her death, characterizing her as a ‘gentle yet firm and dedicated referee’ who was well-liked for her friendly demeanor, commitment, fairness, and strict discipline.

“The late Bosede Momoh was compassionate and possessed a strong character, while also being diligent in her responsibilities.

“The NFF and the entire Nigerian football community will feel her absence, as she continued to make significant contributions to the sport even after retiring as a FIFA referee.”

She served as a National Physical Fitness instructor and an assessor for the Nigeria Premier Football League.

“She has left behind a commendable legacy, and we pray that the Almighty grants her eternal peace, while also providing her friends, family, and the refereeing community with the strength to cope with this significant loss.”
