The stage is set for the 2023 West African Zone B (WAFU-B) African Football Championship which will kick off on Thursday.

Five countries will battle it out for the WAFU-B Zonal title in the U-15 boys and girls categories in Togo from November 23 to 26, 2023.

The tournament, a brainchild of CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, promises an exciting showcase of youth football talent and international camaraderie.

The 2023 edition will feature over 800,000 young African boys and girls from more than 28,000 schools across 44 countries.

From national, zonal, to continental phases, the competition provides a platform for budding footballers to showcase their skills on an international stage.

The five countries participating in the boys and girls Under-15 event include hosts Togo, Nigeria, Benin, Ghana, and Cote d’Ivoire in the round-robin format competition.

The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals before the final decides the WAFU B champions who will then represent the Zone at the Continental phase in April next year.

The competition forms part of the CAF President’s commitment to developing Africa’s next generation of football talent and future leaders.

The zonal phase of the competition will also be held in other four zones which include UNIFFAC, COSAFA, CECAFA, and WAFU A ahead of the 2024 continental climax.
