NPFL: Ahmed Musa berates poor performance from match officials

By Saheed Afolabi

Ahmed Musa has expressed his disappointment with the officiating in Kano Pillars’ recent match against Nasarawa United, which ended in a narrow defeat for his team.

The Super Eagles captain questioned his return to the NPFL, citing the poor performance of the match officials as a major concern.

Musa stated, “I’ve been praising the officiating and the progress in the league up until now, but the performance of the officials in this matchday 9 game makes me wonder if coming back to play in the NPFL was the right choice.”

He added, “For the league to improve, we need to address the quality of officiating. Officials must not be allowed to diminish the players’ morale and effort.”

He further emphasized the need for better standards, saying, “If I keep witnessing such officiating, I cannot encourage anyone to return to the NPFL. It would be a waste of our efforts if this continues.”

Kano Pillars are currently 13th on the league table with 11 points from nine matches, and Musa’s comments reflect a growing frustration over officiating standards that could impact the league’s reputation and development.
