NPFL: Barau FC Part Ways with Technical Adviser Ladan Bosso

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Barau FC have parted ways with their Technical Adviser, Ladan Bosso, following an internal review of the team’s performance in the first stanza of the 2025/26 season.

The Kano-based club confirmed the development on Wednesday, announcing that Bosso has been asked to step aside from his role with immediate effect. According to an official statement released by the club, the decision was reached after a thorough assessment of results and overall performances in the first round of the campaign.

Barau FC management also disclosed that the assistant coach has been appointed to take charge of the team on an interim basis as preparations begin for the second stanza of the NPFL season.

Despite the decision, the club expressed appreciation for Bosso’s efforts during his short spell with the team, thanking him for his commitment and professionalism and wishing him success in his future endeavours.

Bosso, a former Flying Eagles head coach, joined Barau FC on the eve of the 2025/26 NPFL season. His most notable result with the club was an emphatic 4–1 victory over former champions Rivers United.

However, the Maliya Boys struggled for consistency in the first round, finishing 17th on the NPFL table with 21 points from 19 matches. Their record included five wins, seven draws, and eight defeats, leaving the club hovering just above the relegation zone.

With the second stanza approaching, Barau FC will be hoping the change on the technical bench sparks an upturn in form as they battle to secure their NPFL status.
