NPFL: Gbenga Ogunbote hails Shooting Stars’ performance despite narrow loss to Katsina United

By Wale Mustapha

Shooting Stars’ Technical Adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, has praised his players for their resilient performance despite a narrow 1-0 defeat to Katsina United in their Matchday 28 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter on Friday.

The Oluyole Warriors were undone by a stoppage-time goal from Taofeek Ahmed, which handed the Chanji Boys all three points at the Mohammed Dikko Stadium.

Ogunbote described the loss as unfortunate but attributed it to the fatigue caused by their late arrival in Katsina.

“It is unfortunate that we lost towards the last minute of added time, when we conceded the goal,” Ogunbote told the club’s media.

“I think the boys have done very well. They put in their best, considering the circumstances we faced coming here.

“We arrived yesterday evening, and the boys could not fully express themselves due to fatigue.”

The 3SC boss, however, emphasized that the team has moved past the defeat and is already focusing on their upcoming match against Akwa United.
