NPFL: Joseph Godstime’s return boosts Niger Tornadoes for Bendel Insurance clash

By Wale Mustapha

Niger Tornadoes will head into this weekend’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash against Bendel Insurance in confident mood following the return of their midfield talisman, Joseph Godstime.

The Ikon Allah Boys travel to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, on Saturday for their encounter against the Benin Arsenal.

Godstime, who missed the trip to Enyimba and last weekend’s home win over Bayelsa United, has now fully recovered from an ankle injury. The club’s medical team has certified him fit and available for selection.

The midfielder’s return is expected to give Tornadoes a major boost as they look to maintain their strong start to the campaign, having secured two wins from their opening three fixtures.

For Insurance, however, the clash carries added pressure. The Benin-based side are still searching for their first victory of the new season and will be keen to turn their fortunes around in front of home support.
