NPFL: Katsina United must sustain winning momentum — Coach Azeez Audi

By Wale Mustapha

KATSINA — Technical Adviser of Katsina United, Azeez Audi, has urged his players to maintain their current form following a dominant 5-1 victory over Abia Warriors in a Matchday 34 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Saturday.

The Chanji Boys were in blistering form, with Bello Lukman netting a brace, while Mubarak Said, Nura Abdulbari, and Ahmed Taofeek also got on the scoresheet. Abia Warriors’ lone goal came from Anthony Ijioma, serving only as a late consolation.

A visibly pleased Audi praised his team’s execution and discipline but emphasized the importance of consistency as the league season nears its conclusion.

“I am very proud of my boys. They played according to instructions and it paid off,” Audi said in a post-match interview with the club’s media team.

“I want us to continue like this. We need to be stable mentally to sustain this momentum.”

He added that preparations would immediately begin for their next fixture, expressing optimism about their chances.

Katsina United, currently battling relegation, boosted their survival hopes with the emphatic win. They are scheduled to face Sunshine Stars away on April 27 as they look to build on this resurgent performance.
