NPFL: Mbwas Magnut tasks Plateau United to prioritize points over good football

By Wale Mustapha

Coach Mbwas Magnut of Plateau United has urged his players to focus on securing vital points rather than prioritizing style of play as they aim to finish the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season on a strong note.

Currently sitting in 14th place on the NPFL table with 34 points from 29 matches, the Peace Boys are in a battle to avoid relegation and ensure a respectable finish.

Magnut emphasized that his team must maximize their points in the remaining fixtures.

“With the position we are in, we can’t afford to make mistakes anymore,” Magnut said.

“We are trying to see how we can gather points anyhow; sometimes we have to go direct and do other things to see how we can get it.”

He further stressed that while playing attractive football is important, the immediate priority is securing wins.

“Once we are winning with more goals, the beauty of the team will come out. But for now, we are more interested in the points than anything else,” Mangut added.

Plateau United will need to put in determined performances in their remaining matches to ensure they stay clear of the relegation zone.
