NWFL: Confluence Queens restores Tosin Ojo as Team Manager

By Dayo Awoniyi

Confluence Queens FC have reappointed Mrs. Tosin Ojo as Team Manager in a strategic move aimed at restoring stability and competitiveness to the Kogi-based club ahead of the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season.

The announcement was made during a brief ceremony at the office of the Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Anyebe, in Lokoja.

The move marks a return for Ojo, a respected football administrator, as the club seeks to bounce back from recent struggles.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Anyebe congratulated Ojo on her return and emphasized the Ododo administration’s continued commitment to sports development and gender inclusion across the state.

“The state government under His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ododo, will continue to support initiatives that encourage the girl child to dream big through sports. Confluence Queens remain an important symbol of that vision,” the commissioner said.

Confluence Queens Chairman, Hon. Abdulmalik Isah Dolly, also welcomed Ojo’s reinstatement, describing her as a proven leader with the experience to guide the club back to form.

He expressed confidence in her ability to foster professionalism and renewed focus within the team.

In her remarks, Ojo expressed gratitude to the state government and club leadership for the renewed trust in her capabilities.

“I am grateful for this opportunity to serve again. My commitment is to ensure that Confluence Queens regain their competitive edge and make Kogi State proud,” she said.

Ojo’s return comes at a critical juncture for Confluence Queens, a club known for producing top Nigerian talents at youth and senior national levels.

With the new NWFL Premiership season on the horizon, expectations are high that the team can reestablish itself among the league’s elite.

Backed by a refreshed leadership structure and strong state support, the club is targeting a successful campaign in 2025 as it aims to return to title contention in Nigerian women’s football.
