The three remaining unbeaten teams, as far as the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership season is concerned, continued their impressive form at the end of Matchday nine as games become intense in the race to qualify for the Super Six Playoffs.
In Uyo, Rivers Angels edged Ibom Angels 1-0 thanks to Mary Moses’ 62nd-minute strike, which increased their unbeaten record to nine.
The Orange Ladies finally lost for the first time at the Uyo Township Stadium this season.
Similarly, Bayelsa Queens also maintained their unbeaten streak with a 1-0 win over Delta Queens as Chinwe Akabike’s late goal separated both sides in Asaba.
Holders, Edo Queens followed the footsteps of Rivers and Bayelsa in keeping their unbeaten record intact with a 2-1 victory against Abia Angels in Umuahia.
Goodness Osigwe and Esther Moses scored in each half to propel Moses Aduku’s side to a 2-0 lead before Abia Angels top goal scorer, Mary Lucky reduced the deficit in the 72nd minute.
Adanna Nwaneri’s side dropped points for the first time at home this season with the outcome of the match.
In Ikenne, Remo Stars returned to winning ways after last week’s 1-0 loss to Nasarawa Amazons with a 2-0 win over Confluence Queens.
Kafayat Bashiru’s brace condemned Confluence Queens to their eighth loss of the campaign.

Opeyemi Ajakaye and Mariam Yahaya bagged treble while Oluwakemi Adegbuyi scored a brace.
Comfort Saawua’s 89th-minute goal for Benue Queens wasn’t enough to prevent their nine straight loss.
The game also finished as the highest-scoring match this season after Rivers Angel’s 6-0 bashing of Adamawa Queens during matchday seven.
In Owerri, Heartland Queens recorded their second win of the season, albeit with a 1-0 pipping of Ekiti Queens as Blessing Saleh’s 17th-minute goal separated both sides.

Aminat Bello Ayowunmi Omosuyi and Chisom Chima scored for the Solid Babes.
