NWFL Premiership MD 11 Preview: Remo Stars host Edo Queens in top-of-the-table clash with North Central derby at stake

With four games remaining for the 2025/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership regular season to conclude, teams continue their quest to qualify for the Super Six Playoffs and survive.
Three teams have their unbeaten record intact ahead of this upcoming Matchday which is the repeat of Matchday three.
Below is the preview of the matchday 11.
Group A
Remo Stars vs Edo Queens
For the fourth time in top-flight history, Remo Stars Ladies and Edo Queens face off with similar aspirations, which is a qualification for the Playoffs.
The game is a Group A top-of-the-table clash with 16 wins between both sides.
The host had since lost their seven-match unbeaten record to Nasarawa Amazons but sat in pole position to make it to the Super Six in their second season.
They have won all their five home games to extend their run to six despite their second place on the log.
The Benin City-based Edo Queens seats top of the table with 26 points, a point ahead of their host.
They have not tasted any loss this season in the league after 10 games in their title defense aspiration.
The last meeting between both sides in Benin City ended in a 1-1 draw after both sides had won their home clashes last season.
Dannaz Ladies vs Ekiti Queens
In need of their first win in numerous league encounters, Dannaz Ladies and Ekiti Queens trade tackles in Lagos.
The Cedars have not won any of their last eight games with three draws and five losses.
They have won just one of their five home games in their second season in the NWFL Premiership after beating the drop last season.
Ekiti Queens, on the other hand, have lost their last five league games, signaling a bad patch of form for Jacob Vandhi’s side.
They are bad travelers with losses in all their five away games this season.
The reverse fixture ended 2-0 in favor of Ekiti Queens at the end of matchday three in Ado Ekiti.
Nasarawa Amazons vs Confluence Queens
The North Central derby serves us with the class between Nasarawa Amazons and Confluence Queens in Lafia.
With diverse fortunes, Nasarawa Amazons occupy the last playoff spot in the group while Confluence Queens continue to fight for survival.
Nasarawa Amazons have won all their five home games while Confluence Queens have won one of their five home games.
Both sides have met in the past four seasons in the league. The Solid Babes have won four of their last nine meeting with their opponents with Confluence Queens picking their wins while two of those head-to-head encounters ended in stalemates.
Shobowale Olushola scored the winner as Nasarawa Amazons edged Confluence Queens 1-0 in the reverse fixture.
Abia Angels vs Heartland Queens
In another clash of teams with different fortunes, Abia Angels welcome Heartland Queens.
Abia Angels continue their push to qualify for the Playoffs as Heartland Queens fight to maintain their league status.
The host has won four of their last five home games, with their 2-1 loss to Edo Queens, the missing piece in their indomitable home form.
Heartland Queens, on the other hand, have lost all their five away games this season in the league and are searching for their first point and win outside their home ground.
They completed a double over Abia Angels last season en route to their qualification for the Playoffs.
Group B
FC Robo Queens vs Rivers Angels
In Lagos, FC Robo Queens host Rivers Angels with the latter taking their unbeaten record to the Lagos Landladies home ground.
After enduring three consecutive losing streaks, Emmanuel Osahon’s side has won their last two league matches.
At home, they have won three, lost one, and drawn one of their five home games this season.
Indomitable Rivers Angels have a 10-match unbeaten record this season with eight wins and two draws.
Four of their five trips have ended in victory in favor of the Jewels of Rivers with a draw against Naija Ratels.
For the head-to-head record, Rivers Angels have won four of the last seven encounters with their opponents with two losses and two draws.
They won the last meeting 4-2 in Port Harcourt.
Bayelsa Queens vs Benue Queens
For the second time this season, Bayelsa Queens and Benue Queens will meet in the latter’s debut season in the top flight.
Benue Queens ended their run of nine straight losses with a 1-1 draw against Delta Queens in Lafia last week.
The result also ensured that they were the only team without a win in the league after 10 games.
Their opponents, Prosperity Girls have won three of their five away games with two draws.
Those impressive trips include a 5-1 win over Benue Queens during matchday three in Lafia.
Ibom Angels vs Naija Ratels
Uyo Township stadium is the venue of this clash as Naija Ratels continue their quest to qualify for the Playoffs for the second time.
They made it to the Playoffs during their debut 2021/22 season.
This time around they have won four of their 10 games with four draws and two losses.
The Abuja-based side has the highest stalemate percentage in the league this season.
Ibom Angels, on their part, have won three games at home with a draw and three losses.
Their 1-0 losses to Rivers Angels in Uyo ended their indomitable home record after matchday nine.
