NPFL Board investigates disturbing Incident at Shooting Stars vs Ikorodu City match

The Board of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) said it has observed with disbelieve the disturbing pictures and videos from the Shooting Stars versus Ikorodu City NPFL match day 32 fixture that’s been circulating on several online media platforms.
Chairman of the NPFL, Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye said the Board would be sitting today 9th April 2025 for an investigative hearing into the incident at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
“We are not unaware of the unacceptable occurrence and have scheduled a disciplinary meeting to determine appropriate measures to deter a recurrence”, Elegbeleye said.
He further stated that the investigation is in accordance with the NPFL Board’s zero tolerance for unsportsmanlike conducts.
“The Board will consistently act to stamp out all forms disreputable behaviours to keep the league free of unsporting engagement before, during and after league games”, NPFL Chairman assured.
