NWFL Premiership: Ogbonda Whyte unveiled as Confluence Queens new head coach

Second coming of veteran women’s football tactician, Ogbonda Whyte as Technical Adviser of Confluence Queens kick started with his unveiling on Friday in Lokoja.
With just less than a week to the new season kickoff, the management of the Nigeria topflight side announced Whyte’s reappointment on Sunday after ending their relationship with former handler, Liadi Bashiru.
Coach Whyte will be assisted by former Super Falcons defender, Esther ‘Tarashi’ Michael as head Coach, while Abdullahi Muhammed comes in as assistant coach and Bestman Ossai also returned as goalkeeper trainer.
Coach Whyte has managed Ibom Anglels, Royal Queens and Osun Babes at some point in the past and during his first stint with Confluence Queens ended with a second place finish in the NWPL Super 4 having lost 1-0 to River Angels in the final held in Lagos in 2019.
He has also guided Ibom Angels to the finals of the Nigerian Women’s Aiteo Cup twice losing both to his home town team, Rivers Angels.
On his second sojourn with the Kogi side, he will aim to surpass his previous best, winning the league diadem this season.
