Nigeria international Stanley Nwabali has secured his future with Chippa United by signing a new three-year contract with the South African club.
The Nigerian goalkeeper, who has been a standout performer for the Super Eagles, has also been named the new team captain.
Nwabali’s renewed commitment ends any speculation about a potential move away from the Premier Soccer League (PSL) side. Chippa United announced the extension and captaincy appointment on Thursday, highlighting Nwabali’s leadership and dedication.
A statement on the club’s official website read, “We are pleased to announce that Stanley Nwabali has signed an improved three-year contract with Chippa United FC. We are incredibly proud of Stanley’s dedication and commitment to the club.
“His leadership on and off the field has been exemplary, and we believe he is the right person to guide our team through the challenges ahead. With this being said, Stanley will be our new team captain for the upcoming season.”
Nwabali joined Chippa United from Katsina United in 2022, and his continued presence is expected to bolster the team’s prospects in the coming seasons.
